A South Texas Oasis
It began with a big idea. To create a modern, ranch oasis and wildlife sanctuary in the unforgiving South Texas landscape.
Mission Accomplished.
Wildlife.
Zebras, wildebeest, impala, addax, and oryx lend an African feel to safari-style ride-arounds in the open-top high-drive. Coupled with South Texas staples including trophy white tail deer, bobwhite quail, javelinas, coyotes, horny toads, roadrunners, and feral pigs, Piebald Ranch is a true wildlife paradise.
And there are kangaroos, too.
Home Life.
The award-winning home, designed by San Antonio architect Craig McMahon, was engineered to bring the outdoors in. It engages the landscape with floor to ceiling window/pocket doors and covered porches on all sides. The entry connects guests to the main courtyard, with an iconic view of the live oak landscape, a pool, and ample seating areas to enjoy outdoor offerings including a firepit and outdoor grille/kitchen area for entertaining.
Inside the main lodge is an open kitchen, dining, and main living area featuring a Texas-sized fireplace, along with a family room, master bedroom suite, office, and bunk room for children. The guest wing offers three private bedrooms and bathrooms, offering visitors their own hotel-like accommodations.
